Manual Programming Tips

This page is here to assist customers in manually programming their devices when Over-the-Air Programming does not work.

This page is NOT for the faint of heart.  If you are not technically savvy, if you do not understand what a PRL is, or how to use basic software functions with a data cable, this page is NOT for you.

Basically, if you don't speak technical-phone-ese, navigate away from this page now.

This page is here to help you with manually programming your phone. Let me explain a few things.

You can, technically, use ANY CDMA DEVICE on Page Plus Cellular, from any company, as long as
it is NOT a Prepaid Cellular Device that you purchased in a box store such as Walmart or Target.  For instance, you can take a phone from Sprint, US Cellular, MetroPCS, Cricket, etc. and use it with TALK and TEXT on Page Plus.

In order to do that, you need to be able to manually program that phone.  This is where you need
to spend time doing research, downloading software, and installing files onto the phone to make it work.

Here is a basic outline of the steps needed to make a phone work with Talk & Text on Page Plus.
These are NOT SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS for any one type of handset.  These are vague, overall,
general instructions.  You will need to do your own research using this as a guideline.

1.  Get a USB data cable for your phone.

2.  Spend time on google.com and on forums such as kittyforums.com or howardforums.com to find out which software you will need to modify your phone.

CDMA Workshop will generally work with all types of phones. 
(CDMA Workshop is a commercial piece of software that costs $108 USD.)

3.  Run the software, install the Page Plus PRL (Preferred Roaming List) file.  This file tells your phone how to find Page Plus Signal.

4.  Once the PRL is installed, you will need to modify the:

MDN (Mobile Directory Number)
MIN (Mobile Identification Number) and
SID (System Identification Number)

- The MDN is your phone number.
- The MIN is a special number assigned by Page Plus.

- The SID is the Page Plus SID within your area. (Page Plus can give you this, or you can find it using one of our links on this page below.)

After steps 1-4 are done, you should be able to place a call out from your device, receive a call into your device, and send/receive TEXT messages.  Web, data, picture messaging, video messaging, etc. will NOT work.

As a courtesy, we will provide Mobile Internet and Picture Messaging settings which may, or may not, work with your phone or allow you to access these services. Again, we cannot guarantee your phone will work with these settings, nor can we guarantee that your phone will work with  these services IF your phone is not a Page Plus approved phone.

For LG Phones:

Download the LG USB Modem Drivers

1. Press [Menu][0] to access settings
(you will have to know your 6  digit service code).

2. Navigate to WAP Setting.

3. You will see an option for Reset Browser;  Do not use it under any circumstances.

Find the following parameters and set them to the appropriate values:

Primary Proxy Address ppcgw1.vzwreseller.com
Secondary Proxy Address ppcgw2.vzwreseller.com
Primary Port 8080
Primary LXL Port 443
Secondary Port 8080
Secondary LXL Port 443
User Password vzw
Homepage http://homepage

Once you have finished, power your
phone off and then back on.

For Motorola Phones:

1. Press [MENU][0][7][3][8][8][7][*] to access settings
(you will have  to know your 6 digit service code).

(If you cannot see Web Sessions, try ##BROWSER to find Web Sessions on Motorola devices)

2. Navigate to Web Sessions.

3. Move the directional arrow so that one of
the entries is highlighted  and then press the [Menu] key.

4. Navigate to Copy Entry and select it.

5. When prompted to Copy To, enter "ppc" and store it. Doing this will
enable you to view the WAP information and make any necessary changes.

6. Once you have done this, use the directional arrow to highlight the
newly created "ppc" and then press [Menu].

7. Navigate to Edit and select it.

Find the following parameters and set them to the appropriate values:

Name ppc

Page Plus Proxy Settings

HOMEPAGE: http://homepage
USER ID: min
PASSWORD: vzw
GATEWAY 1: ppcgw1.vzwreseller.com
SERVICE TYPE: HTTP
PORT 1: 8080
E2E PORT 1: 8080

I do apologize for the inconvenience with this issue. I would love to be able to offer personal manual
programming assistance to each and every customer, unfortunately, there are just so many different
types and models of phones out there that I would never be able to keep up.
